Our son spent his 2 to 3 at the Garden Playhouse and had a wonderful year. It's a very well run, small scale daycare which feels like a magical home. He loved going there everyday, was excited at what discoveries and adventures each day would bring, and made very strong friendship with his peers while there. We miss Kasia and her team, they really provided a space where we felt confident he'd be given the same attention and care as home, together with a beautiful introduction to life in society.

There's a lot of emphasis on creative play, music, and outdoor time, with frequent group outings to the playground or the waterfront. The food is home-cooked in the kitchen, and the kids interact freely with one another throughout the day. On a given afternoon, our toddler would come home babbling happily about which friends she'd played with that day--and her "friends" often included Kasia or another worker. The other parents are great, too; we've met some really nice people from different walks of life.

We cannot overstate how much we loved the experience our son, and by extension our family, had with Kasia and her team at the GGP.

Kasia is passionate and supportive. I felt she was very adept at understanding our son’s desires (adventure, friends, trains!) providing consistent enrichments that enhanced his interests (song and dance, art!) and providing us with specific feedback that allowed us to help him grow together (she gave us great suggestions for fostering his independence and we all celebrated via zoom when he finally conquered potty training during the lockdown!).

Kasia has long-standing roots in Greenpoint and we really appreciated that she focused her program on community building, ensuring the kids had a chance to connect with the neighborhood and beyond. The kids also got a lot of outdoor playtime in the back garden - rainy / snowy days were no exception!

Every morning at drop off, I left knowing he was in good hands. That feeling was priceless pre-pandemic and crucial now. Every parent I speak with these days is searching for the right balance of keeping our kids safe, managing careers / commitments and creating a well rounded social experience for our little ones. GGP gave us that and so much more during our time there and I cannot recommend them highly enough!

If you're looking for a loving, family environment where the children are treated with calm kindness and respect look no further. Childcare is a passion for Kasia who runs the center, and she hires people who love and understand children. The center takes the kids outside on creative adventures and yet is exceedingly patient with their individual quirks and habits. I was VERY wary of daycares, I didn't want to institutionalize too young, and have I found the playhouse to be a source of child development knowledge and community to our son and my family.

We are SO grateful that our daughter is at Greenpoint Garden Playhouse. If you are looking for a loving, compassionate, fun, play-based daycare, this is the place! Our daughter was in a massive disorganized corporate daycare we were unhappy with, and after switching, we noticed an immediate change in her. She does not want to leave daycare! She loves Kasia and all of the other teachers.

I also appreciate the eco-friendliness of products and playthings, how they accommodate my family's vegetarian diet, the healthy fun diverse food they serve the students, the Montessori-style teaching, the love of books, the amount of time they spend outdoors. I'm a bit of a crunchy mama, and this place is perfect for our family!

They update parents frequently with the app and are super responsive (which I really appreciate). When the daycare closed during COVID, we appreciated the zoom playdates, the art classes, and seeing Kasia over video.

My husband and I really want to move into a bigger apartment, but we would not leave Greenpoint, this being the biggest reason. We are so happy with the daycare that I imagine we would be disappointed anywhere else.

Our daughter has been at Greenpoint Garden Playhouse for over a year now and we just couldn't be happier. Our daughter is always delighted to go to this school and why wouldn't she be - they're always playing in the yard, painting, crafts, even cooking! It is honestly the most delightful experience I can imagine for out of home childcare. As a bonus, they feed the kids a homemade breakfast and lunch every day - they cook right in their kitchen. Kasia, the owner, is super communicative and relaxed - whatever you need, they'll work with you to accommodate. It's the best daycare ever :)
